One is too tight; and the sliding dovetail on one side isn’t really loose, but is definitely a shade looser than the other and I worry that the assembly process is stressing the joint enough to loosen it. Final glue-up should be fine, but getting to there will be interesting. Also, there’s a bit of inlay and maybe some resin and some lights to be inlaid yet and I foresee the final finish planing sorting out the tightness.

The thing I’m most pondering at the moment is that I’m going to inlay a 7mmx12mm wide aluminium channel which will house an LED strip as an under-shelf desk lamp, but I want the cord to be routed without running along the surface and I’m not sure how best to chase the cable into the back of the shelf and down the back of one side…

Are the housings too tight or too loose? Tight is fixable, loose requires creativity.
